Ingenious device or stupid gimmick?
I'm not sure. On my way to work this morning, I saw a car that had a magnetic ad attached to the back of it advertising this thing. I'm not good at visualizing spatial things, so I can't figure out if and how this works. I wish they had a diagram. (Oh, and also, this is clearly one of the things that I would never have around when I could actually use it...)

Wouldn't you know that I'd sit and stare at the picture (while going blind due to the scrolling text at the top of the screen) in order to figure out how you used it?
(I assume you are nodding.)
I think the way it works is that you slide the cord between the the door opening. You have the ring on the inside and the Potty Locker plate, flat against the outside of the door (designed for advertising??) You then tighten it so that the metal bar gets wedged tightly in the door opening, while pulling the plates tightly against the outside of the door. (I wish I could draw this instead of write about it.)
One way you can ensure that you always have it when you need it is by attaching it to your key ring. However, that would mean you'd have to walk around with the "Potty Locker" dangling from your key chain. Besides the embarrassment, think about how gross that would be.
Did you read about the inventor:
"Mary says her inspiration for the Potty Locker came after getting hit in the head by unlocked doors and too many arm cramps from holding the door."
The arm cramps I understand. I'm kinda scared to think about what she was doing that was causing her to get hit on the head by the unlocked door...
Thanks for the explanation. I think I sort of get it, but maybe you ought to FAX me a diagram!
The other thing is that it is really annoying when the potty door doesn't lock, but that doesn't happen to me often enough to justify carrying this thing around on my keychain or in my purse.
Eh.
