Seminole's Hidden Treasure

The Panama Canal Museum has been open in Seminole, just up the street from the Seminole Mall, since 2001. I've never heard of it before, never seen any sort of advertisements, never heard anyone else talk about it. I'm deeply intrigued now; I think it might make a good outing with my mother. I'll report back after my visit...

I like the virtual tour, especially since I know I won't be able to visit any time soon. It gave me an idea of what the collection includes and the history of the canal which was a nice touch. I wish the site told me why this museum is located in Seminole, though. Perhaps there is no reason ('cause there are no reasons, what reasons do you need to be shoooown??)

Recommendations for the people running the museum:

Customize Map Quest's directions just enough to let me know what side of the road the museum is on. I was trying to visual where it is located but couldn't figure out whether to put it near Albertson's or K-Mart. (Roberta, do you know?)

Have the contact email address for the museum be one that doesn't end in @aol.com.

Maybe someday the shop can offer a method of payment other than check/money order and paypal because I know if I could purchase items using a credit card I'd be all over it (just make sure you have a secure server by then. Thanks.)

My comment is longer than your original post. Maybe I should switch to decaffeinated coffee?
