The Introvert Advantage

I just started reading this book. I've always known and accepted that I'm an introvert, but I've also associated many of my introverted traits with other pathologies. So sometimes I think I behave a certain way because I'm an introvert, and other times I think I behave a certain way because I'm a freak. While both things may be true, this book is helping me to distinguish one from the other.

For example, "Introverts need to calculate how much energy something will take, how much they need to conserve, and plan accordingly." Even though that behavior is completely natural to me to the point where I don't even have to think about it, I still think that I tended to categorize that into the "freak" column.

And, hey, I'm only on page 21!

What I did today

  • Paid my electric bill at my local check cashing place. Whew.
  • Bought shoes.
  • Bought some stuff at Target, including an inflatable travel pillow which doesn't seem to be available online.
  • Visited my mom. (What a good kid I am!)
  • Went to the library. Returned some books; made some photocopies (just for you, Spidergirl!).
  • Napped.
  • Worked out.
  • Watched The Amazing Race.
  • Talked to Jill on the phone and made plans for Friday night. I get to pick the movie this time; I've already told her it will be a comedy of some sort (or maybe Wallace & Gromit).
  • Updated my blog.

"A Full Throttle Thriller"?

The least thrilling thriller of all time is coming out on DVD tomorrow. Try not to get mobbed by the long lines of boring people who can't wait to see it again.

(Sadly though, I must confess that seeing the commercial for the DVD makes me long for the movie that should have been made. The commercials and the trailers were all so good; how could the actual movie be so bad?)
