The Original Butt/Face Towel

Just for starters, the name of this product cracks me up. However it also fills me with anxiety to think that all along I may have needed this product that I never knew existed. I've just been using towels all willy-nilly for 36 years! I'm going to refrain from commenting further on the fact that the Butt side of the towel is brown. Ugh.

Seminole's Hidden Treasure

The Panama Canal Museum has been open in Seminole, just up the street from the Seminole Mall, since 2001. I've never heard of it before, never seen any sort of advertisements, never heard anyone else talk about it. I'm deeply intrigued now; I think it might make a good outing with my mother. I'll report back after my visit...

The horror, the horror!

For the past 45 minutes or so, I've been afraid that my tv was broken. I was watching Survivor like normal and then I changed the channel and something ... happened. A big black box appeared in the center of the screen, leaving only a 1 inch perimeter around the edge where I could see the picture. I went back to OLN and it was okay again. Then I tried other channels and almost all of them had this awful black box. I tried the VCR and DVD player and they both had the box too. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH!

Panic ensued! I was especially perplexed that it wasn't affecting every channel. I got out the manual and it didn't help me. I got out the warranty info, thinking that I would have to call for help. (Help! Help!) But then some really weird captions popped up on the screen and jitterbugged around. When I checked the captioning function, it was set to some strange text option. When I moved it back to one of the regular options (there are 8 to choose from!), my sweet, blessed picture returned.

Sigh. Close call.
